CG's Gazette: Requesting Tickets for the Ceremony of Keys Tower of London

Finally have everything ready to request my tickets!!

Need help getting your tickets? This is how to do it:

Include the following in your letter:

- Names of all attendees

- A self-addressed envelope along with two "Coupon-Response International" (coupons can be purchased at usps.com) [Note that American or other non-British stamps are not valid in the UK]

- Two possible dates you are able to attend this event. [need to do this 2 months prior attending event...if you wish to attend in June, July, or August, 3 months in advance is required.

-Mail this to:

Instructions on addressing an international letter: (the same as if you were sending it to another state in the US, only add 'UNITED STATES' on the last line

On the self addressed envelope ... whatever you put on the top left hand corner replaces where you wrote "ceremony of the keys office.... Great Britain part"

One Thing that I found really helpful was creating an account at the Rick Steves' Website.... Fabulous place with very patient people to answer your questions...

Here were some questions of mine:

1-) CAN I SEND THE INFO IN AN ENVELOPE WITH A LIBERTY BELL FOREVER STAMP? OR DOES THE SENDING ENVELOPE ALSO NEED TO HAVE THE "COUPON-RESPONSE INTERNATIONAL" SINCE ITS GOING OVERSEAS?

- " SINCE YOU ARE SENDING THIS TO ENGLAND IT MAY TAKE A FEW EXTRA FOREVER STAMPS. IF I CAN RECALL IT WAS ABOUT $0.95 CENTS TO MAIL SO 3 $0.44 STAMPS SHOULD BE FINE. THE 2 COUPONS GO INSIDE THE ENVELOPE ALONG WITH THE WRITTEN REQUEST AND THE SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPE AND SEND IT LIKE YOU WOULD ANYTHING ELSE. YOU'LL GET YOUR ENVELOPE BACK WITH BRITISH STAMPS THAT YOUR COUPONS PAID FOR ALONG WITH YOUR TICKETS WITH A TIME AND DATE ON THEM. IT TOOK ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS TO HEAR BACK. THEN YOU JUST SHOW UP AT THE RIGHT TIME AND ENJOY!! "

2-) CAN I SEND EVERYTHING IN A 4 1/8 x 9 1/2 INCH ENVELOPE AND THE SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE BE 6 1/2 x 3 6/8 INCH ENVELOPE? HOW BIG ARE THE TICKETS?

- " YES, THAT SOUNDS FINE. I FOLDED MY 4 x 9 SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE AND STUCK IT INTO ANOTHER 4x9 ENVELOPE. THE TICKET IS ONLY ABOUT 3 x 4 OR SO. IT'S BASICALLY A THICK CARD-STOCK THAT THEY PRINT OFF WITH YOUR NAME, THE DATE, AND THE NUMBER IN YOUR PARTY ON A DECORATIVE TOWER OF LONDON PAPER. YOU GET ONE TICKET ER PARTY, A NOTE WITH A FEW RULES, AND A PAMPHLET ABOUT THE TOWER. THE PAMPHLET IS ABOUT 8 x 3."

I actually did what she did^^ [ FOLDED MY 4 x 9 SELF-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE AND STUCK IT INTO ANOTHER 4x9 ENVELOPE ]
